It gives me VERY great pleasure to be able to announce that my IGCSE English Literature course for home educators is ready to take its first intake of students! You can see course samples and further details on my web-site at www.catherinemooneytutoring.co.uk
As I am sure you already know, English Literature is a wonderful IGSCE. Not only does it introduce students to some fantastic texts, but it sits happily alongside IGCSE English Language, sharing some of the writing tasks. If you are looking for a IGCSE that your child would enjoy, and you are also doing English Language, this could be a really good choice. The texts we will be studying are Pride and Prejudice, The Importance of Being Earnest and the Edexcel Anthology. I am very pleased to announce that I have also produced a fully annotated version of Pride and Prejudice, in book format, especially for 13 â€" 16 year old students. (It will be available to buy separately from Amazon from August 2009.)
The complete course will be available from September, but for those wanting to make an early start, the first component, Pride and prejudice, is available from the end of July.
As with my IGCSE English Language course, I have kept costs as low as is humanly possible and there is a further discount if you are already taking my IGCSE English Language course, and also for siblings. Additionally there is an easy payment option. Obviously with a literature course, extra texts and DVDs are required but I have been working hard to get the best possible prices and have produced a bundle of 2 set texts and 2 DVDs for £25!
Incidentally, apart from my OU work, I now work exclusively with home-educated children (they are so much more fun and brighter than their school peers; plus the standard of work is so much higher â€" and yes, you can quote me!).
If you have any questions please email me or you can phone 01952 605865.
