Autism In Mind

Valuing 'EVERY' autistic person!

This group has been set up by Autism-in-Mind as a Campaign Group to show this government the desperate need for the Autism Bill Currently making its way through parliament. Phil Hope MP, Minister for Care Services in February announced a package of measures to improve the lives of people living with autism in England. The government now believes that the Autism Bill is no longer necessary and that the package deal announced will be enough. We do not agree. Phil Hope has pledged that these measures will have teeth. We would like to know what ‘will have teeth’ actually means. What we do not need is to be policing our Local Authorities for any of these measures which we are being told will improve our lives. That is why AIM would like people to join our campaign. Please not that if you join this group you are signing up in support of the measures that AIM would like to see adopted all over England for ‘EVERY’ autistic person. All too often we see children and adults excluded from provision simply because of their IQ. Autism is autism is autism and we need to be valuing every autistic person.
